2026 Summer Assignments
Dear families of Turn of River students:
Welcome to Turn of River Middle School! We look forward to welcoming all of our new and returning students in August. Here is the summer assignment for all students:
Reading
1. Read the graphic novel New Kid by Jerry Craft. All TOR students will read this book over the summer.
Complete a project about the book on paper (choose one):
- Write a review of the book (include a rating and recommendation).
- Write a letter to the author.
- Write an alternative ending.
- Draw a cartoon about the characters and events.
You can access the book in multiple ways:
1. Borrow a copy at a branch of the Ferguson Library.

Extra credit for Reading:
Join the Ferguson Library Summer Reading Club and read other books over the summer.
Math:
Complete the exercises in one of these math packets (solve exercises on paper):
Extra credit for Math: Practice math on MyPath (20 minutes, two-three times per week).
